Walking the Earth - London Under Attack from Greed

Walking, with little regard for our Mother Earth and also for Ourselves, our Communities, in the present moment. London, like many other cities worldwide is being brutalised by the greed of a number of national and international wealthy actors who, with the green light from careless and corrupt politicians, are allowing ‘money and power’ to brutalise the architectural make up of London and more importantly, to break down and deteriorate the very social fabric of our urban communities.

Local communities in London as well as in other world capital cities which have been built over many years of cooperation and compassion in action, are dismembered creating a void only to be replaced by dry individualism, corporate run chain shops and more luxury and mostly empty, by-to-rent or by-to-sell flats and houses.

Speculation and greed reign in London and beyond.

The Music piece composed by Alessio Rossato beautifully fits the mood and the ‘pace’ of the film.

Walking, perhaps sleep-walking, no time to stop and think. The music composition many pauses asks us to stop and think.

Stop moving forward, stop moving altogether. ‘Not doing’ sometime is better then ‘doing for the sake of doing’, or doing only to satisfy one’s self-interest.

Stop and think about where we are going as individuals and as a society.

Stop thinking that this is the only model of development we all have to adhere to. And start dreaming again a society where cooperation and compassion lead societal and spiritual development.

The many voices we hear in the music composition are the many voices that calls for change, like laments surfacing from a hidden world, the world of the less wealthy that wealthier want to hide wants to suppress, the many voices that are being silenced by careless and greedy ‘dark forces’.

Gentrification is only one consequence of this outdated economic and ideological paradigm

Call it neoliberalism or call it communism, state authoritarian digital distopian control system or any other variation of these or any other given name.

The only think that count is that we must drop this destructive parading. We need to grow both at personal and spiritual level for this to happen. There is no other way out otherwise.

PROFOUND CALMNESS

This is the first piece out of a new collaboration with Alessio Rossato, an Italian composer I met at the Electro Camp 5 2017 music festival in Mestre Italy.

This video was inspired by one of Alessio’s beautiful music pieces. The fottage was filmed during one of my frequest visits to Victoria Park, a sanctuary and a place of peace which helped me remain balanced during difficult personal times.

THAT MOMENT IN THE GARDEN

Went down the garden early at sunrise to record some nature sounds and got amazed by the multitude of wild flowers and grasses and their many colours, and the rich interplay of light with plants covered in dew. It inspired me to film. That moment in the garden gave me peace, I hope that this short will give you also peace and stillness.
